Thinking about trying to get one last boat trip on Strawberry before the ice comes. I have read reports of some ice around the edges and bays...just wondering if anyone has been up there like YESTERDAY to see the conditions. From what I understand...it's warmer there than here in the valley. Any very recent reports? Current surface temp?

I would hate to drive up there with my aluminum boat only to find 50 feet of ice on the edge making it so I can't launch.

I have been thinking the same thing. So I called the Strawberry Marina yesterday and they said that there have been no boats launching the last few days. The ramp has a small layer of snow on it but the bigger problem was the 4 foot wide patch of ice that has formed on the ramp at the waters edge. Might make it a little tricky to launch the boat. Again this was what they told me yesterday afternoon.

Maybe you and little b should meet us up at Huntington instead to ice fish!!

I just called the marina, and he told me that about they are launching boats again today at the main marina. He also told me that today was the day to be there...blue skies...no wind...beautiful....

1/2 dozen or so so far today and more in the parking lot preparing.

Unfortunately...I am sitting here at my desk...working for a living.

I think I'm taking the boat to the Berry tomorrow.

Go Randy, GO ...

And don't forget to fish off the shady side of the boat!

Make sure you take good care of Johnson. He is having nightmares about leaves and needs a good break [crazy]. Good luck and stay warm boys!
