Well I have to say that the wind at my house did not do justice to the wind on the main lake! I am not sure either where the weather stations on weatherbug got there info but they were WRONG! It was howling as we pulled out of CFP! I thought we were going airborne several times. Was this fishing or flying? Any way by the time we got to HBSP I felt like :emoticon: You know! We fished a couple sloughs hoping for a good bite. There were fish busting in some grass but we could not get them to bite?? emoScratch We moved off the grass and fished in 6 to 8 feet and I got a nice 2lber on a jerk bait. Tried some more offerrings but no takers. The water temps were 52-54 and the water was chocolate to very stained. There were shad in the back of a lot of the sloughs but I did not mark a lot of big fish mostly just the shad. After getting beat up for a while and wishing I had a couple of power poles on the back of the boat emoBigSmile we decided to run back to CFP. Running down wind was better but still a chore. I am glad we did not venture far. CFP was calm behind the camp sites on the left coming into the park so we joined about a dozen boats taking shelter and decided to fish a little more before going in. The water in CFP is a little cleaner but still stained. I caught a 3++ on a jerk bait and Jack then took the rod with my favorite jerk bait but neither he nor I had any more takers. Again the water temp is below 55. I would guess a few more fronts and they will move out to some deep points. Tight lines! emoGeezer
