My twin and I arrived at the AFC harbor at 10am. We were planning on fishing off the docks but to our surprise there was 2.5 inches of ice with plenty of people on the ice. So I took a deep breath and walked on water! We started out near the docks. Well that was slow but on the opposite side of the harbor was some fast action.

I caught 58 white bass and 1 black bullhead catfish. My twin caught 60 white bass and 1 black bullhead catfish. We were using custom jigs made by Tube Dude tipped with nightcrawlers.
The best was a silver road runner style and a fire tiger road runner style lure. We held them just off the bottom with little twitches. By 4pm the action slowed and we left. I watched others doing well with green lures and some red lures.

All in all it was the best day on the ice ever for my twin and I. We also met no less than 7 BFT members at the harbor today. It was great to watch a few boaters show up and then pull away as fast as they came. Oh man I have 240 fillets to cut now!

FYI - You can park in the main lot without a fee.

Nice man! I heard it was hoping over there. I hit Lincoln and the ice was bowing a bit under my weight by 11. Caught 'gills, sunfish, perch, and WB. A guy I was with caught a 2" bullhead cat. He taught me some good tricks and I think I managed maybe 20 or so fish total.

It was one of the best white bass days for us. We stayed till around 4pm. The action at our location had slowed down quite a bit by then. Those asians we still getting some just north of us when we left. Good luck tomorrow...I'd imagine it will be a mad house. We have that four letter word.....WORK...tomorrow. It was a pleasure fishing with you. Always a joy to run into some fellow BFT members.

Sounds like you found the "varitey" location for Utah Lake. Never have hooked into a perch at UT lake before...still trying to. The ice every now and then would crack below our feet...sometimes as far as 10 feet! The one place that was measured was 2 and a half inches. Definately the thinnest ice I have fished on....but overall it was very safe. Nobody went through. Although most of the older folks were standing on the docks to afraid to enter the ice....too bad for them the fishing sucked off the docks. Glad you had a good day. Just started the filleting process......1 down 119 to go. Better start making some coffe.
