Always been a Shimano guy but I think I'm getting a new rod for christmas and would like some input on a reel for it. Probably gunna be a loomis rod, not throwing anything too heavy maybe 8 lb. test. Trying to find a good reel to go with it. Any ideas?

I've always been a shimano guy as well, but I'm inpressed with the Diawa brand these last couple of years. Worth a look.
