Spent about 4 hours down there, about 11 until 3. It was dead calm, sunny, and not to cold. Pulled in 10 between 2 of us, mostly mid 2 pounders and the one in the pic pushing four. All released except one that was gilled, we gave it to a guy fishing by black sands. Things I forgot in Boise, my dslr and trout tackle, only had what I rigged in the morning, but it always works there. All fish were caught in under 12 feet of water. The one in the pic was around 20 but it kept flopping so i couldn't get a pic with the tape next to it. It did have line coming out it's mouth, connected to a cheap brass swivel, so if someones knot slipped this might be it. I was using a St.Croix ultralight with 4 pound test tied to a bb swivel with a 4 foot 2lb fluorocarbon leader, and a rapala.

Nice! I went out today and didn't do so hot. Was trolling rooster tails and wedding rings tipped with red tiger worms. Then tried dropshotting some worms and grubs. I hae not tried rapalas though. And less than 12' of water you caught yours! I only saw fish out in about 70' of water.

Thanks for the post, gives me vigor to get out there again

Nice going! So, were you fishing in 12' or were you fishing 12' deep? Again, way to go. Mike

12 feet of water, smacked the bottom a few times also. We figured shallow a few years ago catching huge trout on texas rigs while bass fishing in early spring. Just troll up the snake where you would usually cast for bass and you'll hit a school. Smaller the bait the better, we usually fish number 3 rapalas.
