Fished Foster today from around 9:00 to 3:30. Eight to twelve inches of ice. It was cold and foggy all day. Marked a lot of fish with the Showdown flasher and couldn't get them to bite. I finally set up my tent to get out of the wind and looked down the holes. There were quite a few fish around anything that I put down the holes, but they were all small Perch, three to 6 inches, so probably by next winter we will have a great place to catch perch. They would move out every once in a while and the trout would come and play, I caught a few of them, but the biggest was only around eight inches and all of them went back to play another day. I was using wax worms, meal worms and night crawlers on a lot of different colored jigs and paddle bugs. Nothing worked today. It is fun to use the flashers and be able to look down the hole at the same time to see what's going on down there in relationship to what's happening on the screen.

That's good to hear that there's something other than planter trout alive in there since the dam work. I wonder if any bass are left?

[crazy]Hows Glendale doing these day's, have you fished it lately or heard anything about it? Would like to go try for the crappie real soon. I hit it a couple times last year and only found the trout, some day I hope to find the crappies that are in there, got any tips on where to locate them in that pond?

The crappie, like the perch and bass, may not be built back up in Foster yet. Foster was completely drained a few years ago and it wiped out everything.

Trout are stocked, but the warmwater fish are escapees from Glendale. As they make their way to Foster the population will eventually rebuild. I may be a few years yet before there are many good ones there. Hopefully they will not be wiped out again.

Yeah, just a little wishful thinking on my part. Winder too is one that I want back. It's just a shame because those two are about the only places where I can tube without fear of being run down by ski boats.

There and oxford! Wish oxford would fill up and stay full for a few years..last time i went to oxford about a year ago i scene some bluegill but they were all really small about the size of silver dollers. Also wish we could do somthing about strongarm.

Haven't been to Glendale lately. Last time I was there it was just starting to get ice, should have ice now, but they were filling it so the ice was having a hard time keeping ahead of the water.

That would be cool if something were done with those two little reservoirs. I like how small and peacefull Oxford looks, but it's definitely not worth the drive for small gills.
