Still open water on main lake. Heard on another forum that there is enough ice @ Moonstone and Hot springs area to fish

I drove out East Magic road yesterday to just have a look, 2dogs is right lot's of open water on main lake between East and west resorts, also looks like the narrows is all open water too.
I talked to a fella that does alot of ice fishing out there, he's been fishing the hotsprings moonstone area said there's about 8" of ice and fishin' is pretty good.
I was out by the dam a few days ago; seems to be plenty of ice there seen where folks had drilled some holes and there was plenty of folks fishing the open water below the dam.

Headed there for the first time next week. Does anybody know if the perch have any size to them this year? If I go I'll post a full report with pics [

Although sometimes the larger perch are caught in the winter, the last report I heard was that they are still quite small. Mike

we fished around hotsprings today and landed a few nice rainbows, seemed fairly slow overall however and I didn't see a lot of fish being caught by other fishermen. we ran up to moonstone and took a look at the end of the day and then over to the dam. moonstone has tons of holes drilled but there weren't any guys around to ask how they had done up there and I didn't see where anyone had drilled through the ice up by the dam, it looked slick on and not anywhere near as thick by the dam either so if you head that way take care and bring some ice cleats. headed back up tomorrow and we'll try a few more spots so i'll post again later. hopefully with a few more fish and especially some perch.
