decided to hit up rockport for some trout action and maybe some perch. got out to our spot at around 7 am, and drilled some holes and right when my dad dropped down he caught a 7 inch perch. so we kept him for bait and kept fishin thinkin we were on some perch. not the case, we fished in that spot with no bites for 3 hours not even a trout hit. then at around 10 30 am we started hammering the trout in all depths all together we caught16 trout ranging from 14 to 18 inches kept 6 for the smoker. then at around eleven at the same time me and my dad caught 1 10 inch perch and one 10 1/2 inch perch on green tube jig, it was pretty cool to see some since they havent been there in great numbers for the past few years. took em home for the skillet. it was a prety good trip.

Thanks for posting your report JP1, good to see a few members are catching some perch at RP. If you don't mind me asking, what were you tipping your jigs with?

Nice report, Jazzperch! We were there yesterday and saw a few perch (I think that's what they were on the bottom, anyway) but didn't get even a bite. We were fishing in 30 feet of water. We were on the state park end though, just out from Twin Coves campground. We did catch a few perch there last year though. If you don't mind me asking, were you fairly close to that area?
