I got a bunch of maniac soft plastics from my brother for christmas. And any one that hasnt had a chance to use maniac custom lures i highly recomend you get some and try them out! Cutt'r bugs in genral! They are some great stuff.. also i picked up some line i have not tried yet and just respooled my pflueger spinning setup with it. The line is trilene sensation ultra! I got it in 6lbs i so far like it it is super visible a bright green.. and so far it feels pretty good.. only time will tell though.. i got it to replace the braid i had on befor as i was getting super mad at the braid.. i am planning on fishing the portneuf for the next couple days because the browns are biting right now.. any one else use the trilene sensation yet? And also what is a good line for ice fishing what brand any way.. im using berkly ice line which is a braid and i like it but i hate it at the same time because on a real cold day the ice builds up on the line to fast..

When it is cold like this it stands to reason that a braid will hold water and freeze. Probably still a good line for warmer weather.

Hope you get into the browns. I need to get out while it is a little warmer, but we have a freezing rain going on right now though. Ick!

the only line ive found that dont have memory and dont stay coiled when u let your line out is stren ultra thin. 6 or 8 lb. i just put. triline on and used it once and took i right back off. i put 8 lb stren ultra thin green back on. and i love it. its alittle more spendy but i think its worth it.

Have you tried maxim? Line or suffix? Ive used them bolth but i got them for leaders so i got fairly heavy lb for steelhead suffix is 17lbs and maxim is 15. Any way my question is has any one used it in a lighter line weight. How does it perform? .

I got into using the Firelines and SpiderWires there for awhile because I was taking out alot of my friends that were pretty green to fishing and seemed to snag up alot. Havent lost much tackle here for awhile but I can see my fish catch kinda diminish as well. They must be able to see the line better or something. Never really believed too much in that until I started noticing it. Glad to actually see a post about line so I know what to switch too.

For all my fishing I have switched to braided line. I use yo zuri hybrid 10 or 12 pound for a leader. I do like that setup for all my fishing. If I am after panfish, and walleye I do use a lighter leader. But for Catfish I use the 10 or 12 pound.
The braided line won't twist while trolling, and the Hybrid leader won't break do to rubbing on rocks. Ron

Ive used just about every line they sell spider wire braided wires and most mono lines and ive yet to find one that beats stren ultra thin. I troll alot with down riggers in soft water and use 8lb stren and really ive not lost many from broken line. Biggest ive caught on it is 23 lb carp [by acident] at flaming gorge. But I am old school if it aint broke dont fix it. lol
