I own two of the regular Cabela's Depthmaster DM30 combos. I have never had a problem with either of them and would buy another in a heartbeat. I've owned them for about 6 years now. I've caught a lot of lake trout, cutthroat and kokanee on them. The rod I have is the 8'6" downrigger rod in Medium. Its great for kokanee and has enough backbone for the larger lakers. I've compared my reel to some Diawa depthcounter reels and both are good, but the Diawa quite a bit more expensive. The drag on my Cabelas DM30 is excellent. I have NEVER lost a fish due to the drag not working properly or smoothly.

thanks for the input just ordered two of them . it was between them and the penn 209 combo. but there about twice as much guess i will try the cabelas. thanks again
