What is the best line you use and what gives you these opinions?? What is your most used test, and color if applied? Just courios what my fellow fisher men amd women use for line. Also is it braid mono or fluoro? Or some other hybred? Ive noticed some people asking about lines so I figure why not put out a post were every one can contribute and learn!! Thank you for your particapation!

And fly line is also helpfull of any one has input about that also!!

P-line 4# CXX X-tra strong in Moss Green. Works great for the tiny jigs I throw for alpine trout.

I chose "other" since I almost exclusively use Power Pro braid in fluorescent yellow. My old eyes see it well, and I have had no problems with the yellow in the murky waters of Lake Lowell and the Snake River. I fish braid from 5 pound on up to 50 pound.

I realize i said berkly and trilene forgwtting trilene is berkly woops!!

I'll second the P-line vote. I haven't used the smaller sizes but I use it on my steelhead and salmon rods and it works great. Maxima is my other favorite.

I'm sorry Jeremy, but I can hold my

aintskeerd, look at the spelling of your name and then get over it. Only little people be-little people.
I like Maxima Ultragreen for most apps from ocean fishing all the way down to trolling for Kokes.

pretty

when you have to harp on someone about spelling on a fishing forum....really? answer the question posed or dont post.
jeremy it depends on the type of fishing i am doing. when bass fishing i have rods spooled with 3 types. if i am using mono it is bps excel
flourocarbon will always be yozuri hybrid and my braided rods will be viscious
i grew up fishing stren but it seems to have changed over the past few years(or maybe i have)
[signature]
Completely dependent on the situation.
All spinning rods get Tuf-line XP in 15-30lb class with a 4-8' fluoro leader in 4-14lb
Crankbait rods get Suffix in 8-12lb
Swimbait rod gets 20lb Maxima Ultragreen or 65lb TufLine XP
I've switched to 75% braid on my rods. All jigs, drop shots, crappie rigs, trout rigs, shaky heads, tubes, etc get braid with fluoro leader where as moving/reaction type baits get mono.

What dictionary did you use to spell priest?[blush]

Besides the spelling of priest, you also missed two commas and a period in your post. [cool]
The point is that it really doesn't matter.

Different lines for different apps. Still experimenting. Lots of Mono- but TDs got me sold on Excalibur Silverthread... so I've been trying that out.
Here's a question: Does line go "bad" over time? I know on a reel it can get all twisted sister, but if it's stored on a spool, is there a statute of limitations or a "best if used by" date/age to be concerned with?
As for spelling - um, er, how long have you been clutching to this concern? At six posts - you must have been lurking for some time to take THIS opportunity to jump out and slam-post. I (and others) intention-ernally mispell wurds on occasion, just to be silly. I enjoy Jeremy's antics, and others. Makes me chuckle. I reread my own posts an say "oh carp" plenty of times.
[center]Fatfingers is as fatfingers does.
If you want to take your concern to an English Spelling and Grammer site - go for it! Lots more worthy causes to get your panties in a bind over, IMHO. Like how big IS that fish! No really - no fish THAT big ever came from THAT lake! Musta been shopped, or here-say.
I'm not gonna even qualify this retort with a kitty pic! (oh, can't refrain....here's a baby pic! Seem fitting)

I like Trilene Big Game in green 50#

Berkley vanish is on just about every pole, I own really like the stuff i switched a few years back from yozuri as it didnt seem to last a long time and got abrasions and nicks real easy but its great line if you change it seasonally
[signature]
I like Trilene XL; it's smooth-casting.
I like whatever is on the spinning reel I picked up at a yard sale this summer. It casts far.
And I like jeremypeace's posts - spelling, grammar, (note the use of the serial comma indicating a propensity to lean on the Chicago Manual of Style instead of the looser AP style) and all.
[signature]
jeremy on the question of lines, the braid can stay on alot longer that flouro and flouro alot longer than mono....the more stretch the line is capable of the faster it wears out. so the only way to answer you question about life of the line is to say it all depends how often you fish and how many fish you catch on said line.
[signature]
I like this post!
Been experementing my self latley.
In the summer I fish mostly for Wiper and Cats at Willard.
Mostly I go as light as possible 6 to 8 lb Trilene but did try a 20lb braid spectra. I found it didnt cast as far but made up for it by allowing me to fight the Wipers more aggressively. That was fun.[cool]
Now its ice time and in years past used the "iceline" sold in 50 yard and 75 yard spools. This bugged me. I like to buy line in bulk. So I found that Florocarbon works great as iceline! One 200 yard spool of 4lb test (Trilene)
fills all 4 of my ice rods for about $15.00. So I save 10 bucks! Its tougher that most iceline too.
I hope any miss spells or gramatic errors in this post do not offend any of "NANCYs" out there.
one side note: I am glad you decided not to let the negitive side of BFT members get to you and dive you off.

So you think your Mr. intelagence because you can spell. I thought this site was a good ol boy fishing site. Get a life and listen to some good ol boys and you might learn alittle about fishing!
