I use gamakatsu for my soft baits, replaced the trebles on my crank baits this summer and used the trokar and eagle claw for worm drowning. I guess I'm not stuck on one brand, the only hooks I don't like are the ones on the cheap jig heads (don't know the name of them) I have had problems with them bending or breaking.

Every lure mfg that uses single hooks seem to be moving to the Matzuo Sickle style single hook.

I voted for mustad as that is what I use. but if I could justify spending the money on trokars I would because they are just plain awesome

For bait fishing I like Eagle Claw red Lazer Sharp #2 . It's big enough to get a Marshmellow a Night Crawler and a Kernal of corn on . Some times a small gold salmon egg hook , with a kernal of corn . Curt G.

I have been using Gamakatsu for tying my own jigs of late. Still looking for a good fly tying jig hook, though.

I really like red eagle claw bait holder lazer seems like the red gets a few more bites, Ive been thinking of switching to circle hooks for sturgeon but the current ones i use are just a plain old mustade

I use Owner hooks for most applications, but prefer Gamakatzu, Mustad, and the Matzuo Sickle hooks for certain specialized circumstances.

I like TRU Turn baitholder hooks for marshmallow worm kinda deal. I like Gamagatsu for Bass worms and such. Past that I have not experimented much

Gamakatsu are the sharpest hooks I have ever used. You gotta use them with caution they will bite you. They have an awesome variety and I have yet to find a better hook.

Gamakatsu all the way. Spendy but, sharp out of the box and stay that way pretty well.

Are you shopping on the net? I buy them in bulk for much cheaper . . .

I've got lots of lead. Someone gave me a bunch of huge sea fishing weights I could cast into thousands of small jigs.

I love Owner, especially their trebles. I do use their hooks for Texas rigs and drop shotting as well. I'm sure Trokar hooks are even sharper, but I can't afford them. Gamakatsu, Daiichi, Damiki, and Decoy are all really good too. I like the Ultra Needle Point Mustad hooks as well because they're very sharp but cheaper. XPS hooks have been pretty decent for the money as well. On the rare occasion that I bait fish (catfish), I like Gamakatsu circle hooks.
