I thought I was taking it easy as I didn't get up until 6:30 and we didn't get to Mackay until 9:30AM. I should have stayed in bed at least another hour. The Kokes didn't show up until 11:30. Three of us limited out by 1:00.

We were using the standard flasher dropper set up with rat finkies for droppers. I missed a lot of fish as I didn't have my Kokanee feel really going yet.

The wind was blowing like crazy when we first arrived so I set up the icehouse and heater then the wind quit and it was beautiful the rest of the day.

We were fishing in 37' of water. The kokes were on the bottom.

It was great to see Rexburgrabble out there fishing. It looked like he was doing pretty good as well.

There is a strange collection of architecural wonders out on the ice this year. I wish I had taken pics of some of those icehouses.

I was fishing next to the lone blue permanent house. We were trying my sons new quick fish 3. Sorry I didn't recognize you. Were you the one who came and talked to me before moving up lake to look for trout?

How hard would it be to get a 4 Wheeler or Snow Machine on the ice ? Curt G.

It was great meeting you as well! I went up with my family. Between the five of us we caught 21 kokes. I was the only one that limited out; likely because I was the only one that had a spring bobber. Once I got my limit and gave my pole to the others, they quickly caught more. Needless to say, they're on the market for spring bobbers. I was using a pink tube jig tipped with corn. There were others around us using meal worms and they were doing great as well. Like Windriver said, fish just off the bottom.
Great day on the ice!

The ramp ice was solid at 1 pm and someone added a shelter to the collection then. At 5pm it had some water but someone just rode a 4 wheeler onto the ice.
We jigged but did watch a couple using small pink tubes do well w/o jigging. It was all they could do at times using 3 poles each and trying to keep then untangled.

no sir i set up after you had been there and left before you started breaking camp down. not sure what it is about that spot but it only takes me any where from 15 minutes to an hour to limit out. sorry i missed you buddy im head back north in the a.m.

Drive for 3 hours and fish for 15 to 60 minutes. It should be the other way around as long as you are catching fish. I spend that much time untangeling the kids line on a trip. I was thinking that we would run in to each other on the ice somewhere. Have a safe trip.

Now that's not fair having those beautiful fish all dressed up in breading and looking so nice to eat!! I am looking at those fish and my mouth is watering. Your wife must be a really good cook or you are Windriver. Correct me if I am wrong, but those two pieces of fish must be prepared two different ways. Boy what a epicurian you are. You are a fish eater after my heart.
