Since most of the readers here stay on this thread, I am going to encourage you all to go to this website - as most of you are also waterfowl hunters I thought you might be interested in this discussion about guiding/outfitting for waterfowl. I did post some info also under the Idaho hunting thread but not a lot of people go there either. JFYI.

Thanks

So just a question Chrome? What is the difference between the two links you have on your reply to me vs the one I had? And I know for a fact that in past, there have been many many links on folks posts to other websites, etc and nothing ever said. And I was just refering folks to the hunting site anyhow. But, I see that you can edit folks posts now. I am not trying to stir the pot here, but just want everyone to know what the rules are and why you can link to a fishing blog website, and there is one linked in the one just below this on ATTn flyfishermen and I dont know the difference between a blog and web forum. Yet you and the poster on that thread can link but I couldnt link to the other one I had that you deleted? Can you explain and help everyone to know what the difference is. I will try to find the other links as I know they have been on before by other regular posters.

Your help to understand would be appreciated instead of just tearing folks down that didnt or dont know what the rules are.

Thanks

here is one of the biggest links to a website push and you nor anyone else edited it - http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=585746;#585746

Here is the link to BFT's forum guidelines.

I'm not sure what site you had a link to, but if it was to another fishing forum, then you were out of bounds.

The signature links in CJ's posts are allowed because he has a Supporter Signature File.

If its a forum that has the same related things its not allowed an exception would be if it was a paying sponsor or if they pay for advertising

I dont disagree but there are many posts that contain links that way and it never ever mattered to anyone in the past if they were a regular contributor in the past. And I have contributed a lot in past just didnt get out to fish this year.
But, no where does it state that. In fact here is the reminder on BFT Idaho and I dont see that anywhere about web links to other forums.

"Lately several of the posts I have been reading are pretty blatant about disregarding the clearly spelled out rules of the Idaho Forum. D/T this I felt it was time this thread got a little bump and maybe a little spelling it out to make the points clear on some.

1. "Absolutely no profanity, including creative profanity". Most people are good about this, but I'm seeing a large number of people (mostly newer members, so they may just not be aware) that are removing a vowel or a couple letter from the word and putting in symbols instead. This however does nothing to hide what is being said. Use a word that doesn't break the rules instead and spell it out.

2. "No personal attacks." Simple. Don't tell someone they're an idiot, worthless, racist etc. unless they themselves have already claimed it.

3."Keep pics under 300k". Very straight forward, little tougher w/ the higher megapixel cameras but not very. I do feel that perhaps this one could use some review for updating since internet connection speeds have increased for most people in the last few years. Perhaps 600-900k is more appropriate. Just a thought for the moderators to mull over.

4."Keep the subject matter strickly about fishing reports, techniques, and information on the fishing board." Simple. Think about what your thread is going to say, look at the main Idaho board options, and if it doesn't have anything to do w/ fishing put it in one of the other categories.

I think if people actually review these rules periodically and abide by them, and they are enforced when needed, then this board will continue to thrive and improve. "

As I said, i linked it to the hunting link on BFT, it was not to another fishing website or blog, but BFTs hunting link, but CJ decided that link couldnt be put on here either. His link goes to a blog that is fishing related and if the comment about can not lik to other fishing forums, etc, then his is not appropriate as many others are in the same category.

That really isnt the issue Idaho, as I am not a new member. Been a member since jan 08. I have read the info you posted and I am well within what I posted as I read it. I did not take anyone to any other website dealing with fishing. I simply posted a reference for FYI to a duck hunting website and to the Idaho hunting website under BFT. Read about advertising and other links too and many many others are in violation here if you go back over the years and posts. Thanks anyhow.

If you look on the main page under the idaho section there is also hunting so it is direct competition, they look at it as steering members away and its against the rules.
They are pretty lenient, as they should remove all links to products that aren't from paid advertisers. Blogs are a different story as they aren't a forum
settle down duksnfish no need to get nasty. when i deleted your link i had been up very sick for a few days. so i didnt click on the link to see what it was i just assumed it was advertisement for something not authorized by BFT mainly a forum. we ussually are pretty good about letting everybody posting links on here but remember we cant let them all slide. i appologize for deleting your link, feel free to post it again but i do feel it is still better suited for the hunting forum as that is what it is there for.............oh and the difference between my links in my signature and your links is that mine has the bft approval above it. its one of the small perks BFT gives the mods. thanks for your time and sorry again.
