So between the post Breaking in the Battleship and Gnelson's are you a Kayak angler. There has been some interest in a possible paddle/peddle tournament. As in human powered vessels. Float tubes, pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes, etc as long as its not motorized. The discussion is looking like an early April event. It seems like we are still in the discovery phase to gauge interest in such a contest. Feed back is welcome. Hopefully we can make this materialize.

Agent,
I'm sure there are a few fishermen in the Nevada Striper Club that would be interested. Please keep us posted.

I'm very interested. When would tournaments begin? Around spawn?

That would be great at first thought was within the first two weeks of April. Is there a better time of the year?

Don't know yet, but we will make mention of it a tomorrow's monthly meeting. I'm sure that you know you will have to obtain a permit from the park service which will require a liability insurance policy of $1,000,000 in order to hold a contest on Lake Mead. They don't mess around out there either. Groups from California have tried to hold pirate tourney's in the past and have been fined and run off the Lake. We pay over 1,200 a year to hold our monthly tournaments and we are about 20 members away from paying twice that.
It's really not too hard to get the permit but it take about 60 days to obtain. If you generate enough interest and would like to go forward with it, I will point you in the right direction to make it happen. Off hand I would say there are at least 10 NSC members that would fish it if it came to be. I would have to dust off the old Cadis and repair the waders but would be in for sure.
