Was that today? The ice was poppin good two weeks ago, I thought that would have settled down now. Good looking fish I am heading up this weekend.

that was a week ago. around 25 foot of water

Glad to know that I am not the only one to catch crayfish through the ice up there. I was given an negative score for doing that. Way to go with the fish.

we threw the dads back but why were you given a negative score? I actually wanna drop a trap down there just to keep them off the jigs, and possibly attract fish to all the crawdad activity on a trap. I'm sure that might be considered some sort of chumming thing tho.

My brother and his friend think catching dads through the ice is stupid so they came up with rules. Crawdad -1, carp -2. I caught one trout and 2 crayfish through the ice that put me in the negative and had to buy breakfast. But I am with you I want to try to get a trap down there and load up. Fresh crayfish stew sounds good when fishing on the ice. Off the record one of my other brothers did that at Deer creek a few years ago and hooked into a big fish. Never got it in but it fought like crazy before getting away.
