I went fishing at clear lake two days ago worse mistake ever. the fishing was horrible I hooked into one and only one and seen only two, when back in the day you could see tons of fish swimming around. while there i ran into the David he is on the board of directors for the club and he told me that the fish has gone way down hill because of all the fish poop from the hatchery. He they told me that they need to dredge the lake, but its going to cost way to much money so he did not foresee it happening any time soon. On the plus side he did tell me that they still will plant it.
So if anybody here of them planting it drop me a line please, but until then I will stay home.

I went once a few years back because a buddy wanted to go. Once was more than enough. I don't need to pay $ to catch nasty finless brood stock trout. Fishing was pretty crappy too.

Bummer. Clear lake used to be my February "Cabin Fever" remedy. It used to be a great time!

Im not sure where clear lake is at but if its in Idaho go to Idaho fish and game.com and they have a report on every lake they stock and when it was last stocked, and what type of fish was stocked.

bearlakebob, Clear lake is a private owned and maintained lake by Clear lakes Trout company. They usually stock it with a lot of their bigger retired hatchery hens and some smaller stock as well. 15 years ago a 10 lb trout was not unrealistic to catch out of there but thats also when they used to dump their process plant into the lake and we used lead core line and tied big white "gut" flies and fished the flumes
