just got back from fishing big hole by sportsmans park in aberdeen.fished from about noon to 1630. ice was great, anywhere from about 4 inches to over 12 inches depending where ur venturing. the edges were pretty good even tho the air temp made it to about 41 today. the fishing was good but not fast by any means. did catch 3 planter sized fish, lost 1 good sized one at the hole about 17 inch or so, and my gf missed a decent sized fish as well. also missed a few smaller ones. no pictures this time around but should be headed back out there next saturday.

i was trying out some of those maniac custom lures (the ones that are going to have the tournament later this month) that they are selling over at the co-op in american falls tipped with some meal worm. the hardest part is finding out where the fish are holding at and color is making a difference, they seem to be keying in on certain colors from one day to the next or even from hour to hour. id try just experimenting with anything you got as far as color, size and bait to tip it with.

Not familiar with amerian falls, where is sportsmans park in aberdeen ???? What is a good sized fish for this reservior ???

havent caught too many fish out of there yet but i have seen some good ones. most of mine are in the 12-16 range but ive seen some 4-6 lbers come out of there. also a state record was set out there early this year, think it was a 42lb rainbow or cutbow, cant remember
tried to put a map to sportsmans on here but couldnt quite figure it out, you can go to google and type in sportsman's park, aberdeen, id...should get you a decent map. its just east of town from the experiment station.

Found it, I am trying to contact maniac to see how they are going to officiate such a larger reservior for a derby. Are they going to limit a fishing area, is it going to be a turn in at the end of the day??? if so how are they going to ensure maniac lures only are used??? I am thinking on attending. When I get answers I will make a post. I have a few friends that want to attend and will probably stay in Pocatello so we do not have a long drive in the morning from Utah. Thanks for the info.
