I started the day today with some high hopes for tangling with a couple water wolves near Coeur D'Alene. A buddy and I tried our favorite slough of the CDA River and Rose Lake without even a nibble. Both places had about 3.5-4 inches of ice (which absolutely freaked my buddy out, but we made it through OK). Saw one pike about 30 inches on the ice at Rose lake, and a few people were catching perch - but not me.
We decided to try to salvage some dignity while there was still some daylight so we headed home via Moose Creek Res. Fishing was pretty dang good there. We fished for about 2.5 hours and I iced a whole herd of hatchery hotdogs, about 30 bluegill, two pumpkinseeds, and one crappie. Ice was about 10-12 inches.
On a side note I got to try out my new 8 inch Nils and it lived up to all the hype. I timed a hole at Moose Creek and made it through in 13 seconds!
No pics today.
