Had a very good day with some 15" trout all were healthy and gave a good fight. Most were found near shore using jigs with a bit of nightcrawler. I caught 3 and my JawJacker caught 2 ( I just got to reel them in).
Fished with Drownin flys and his wife, it was great
meeting them and hanging out.[fishin]

Nice fish. That is one thing about Oakley, the fish are always so well fed. Looks like a lot of fun!

Well at least it was a pretty drive. you should drive all the way out to grouse creek sometime its a nice drive and lots of scenery.
well the wife had so much fun yesterday we decided to go up again today. fished from 9 till 2 and ended up with 14. crappie jigs in white and red and blue and white worked pretty good also a little on chartreuse . I got me some bigger jigs last night and caught 4 on the jaw jackers. best fishing was from 9 till noon then it really died off made a short video too

There must be a lot of food in there cause the fish are always fat and healthy and some years catching 4 pound fish happens all the time

You really had a great day! Like I said I cooked up those from Saturday for the pot blessing and they were well recieved even my son liked them and he says he doesn't like trout.
Glad the JawJacker started to earn it's keep[

Great video too! I love how those fish flash under the ice as they fight. It almost looks like lightning flashes in your shelter. Fun
The fish there are VERY well fed. I haven't been there for several years, but we used to do very well on little streamers in baby perch colors. I remember the largest fish I caught there was almost too fat to fight! When I got it in, it had so many perch minnows in its mouth and stomach that it puked a bunch of them on me when I picked it up, and 3 of those swam away when I chucked them in the water. Amazing that it thought it could cram one more in!!

did you see the two guys with the huge yellow lab that likes to go bug people when they catch a fish? He is even know for stealing a few, once in a while. That was me and friend. Great fishing, got our two limits.

Fished yesterday 1/21/12 and had a great time. Caught at least 30 bows all healthy and good fighters from 14 to 20 inches. I fished the trapper creek arm and ice was 8-10 inches thick with 2 inches of water on top in some spots. Searched all over the arm looking for perch and walleye but all I found were trout. Forgot my jigger totter stands at home and it cost me. I lost a rod down the hole late in the day. Fished a great variety of depths and most of the trout were in the 12-20 feet depth. Was my first time fishing there and will surely go back. If the rain and warm weather keeps up I think the ice will go quickly. Edges were already getting iffy in places. Talked to some folks that attempted to go to the goose creek inlet and couldn't get to the reservoir due to muddy/wet roads. Tight lines,
Cole

Nice video. I had to show my wife the first part with the ice singing. Something she's never experienced and I'm sure she is going to freak out when she does. Anyway she didn't seem to bothered with it but she did freak out seeing them nice fish go back down the hole. I'm not kidding, she freaks and I'll be hearing about all day. Once we were fishing CJ and we swung by to see some friends sturgeon fishing. Well as luck would have it one guy had a fish on. She was digging it until it was released. She freaked on my friend and gave him a 30 minute lecture for letting it go. I heard about that one for months. LOL

Thanks my wife wasn't to comfortable out there we had to set there for 30 min before she would let me drill holes ha ha. really ? well tell her i re caught them later and kept them or i had one of those live wells that fit in the ice and i just kept catching the same fish lol
