Met Riverlution at Hobbs this morning to poke some holes. Using Yellow and White Trout Magnet plastics topped with a gold jig head, landed 17 fingerling trout by 11 o'clock. Largest was 6", not entirely sure I didn't catch the same fish ten times. Fish were very active and were hitting in the 5'-10' range. Had a good time and made a new fishing friend!

Right on! Can't wait till they grow a bit. Great report, thanks for sharing.

Still tugs are tugs IMO![fishin]

Affamily, I am glad we were able to hang out today. It was a nice quick trip close to home. I ended somewhere in the high teens. With my trophy being the five inch blue gill. My kids sure did enjoy it as well.

I am hoping those fish grow quite rapidily. It will be nice to learn some of the big fish handouts in that pond. There has to be some big ones it is just to big a pain to find any holes through the ice. We did find water in the 30 foot deep range. That was surprising.

Lets do it again soon.

2012 the year of the fish.

After putting away the shelter this afternoon from the berry trip yesterday I decided I needed to wander around on some more ice. Went down to Hobbs at 4pm and saw holes by the dam and 700 ft to the east. I assume they were yours?

The trek down is steep. Should be interesting hauling the power auger down there but the kids will love it.
The assumption is correct, those were our holes. Had a young guy out with us and at the beginning of the morning I offered him $10 to drag my wagon up and down the hill (I've had a knee replacement and hills=hell). He eagerly accepted the $10, but I think he was regretting taking the chore when it was time for me to leave and having to drag my gear up the hill[laugh]. I helped him push it up the hill, was pretty steep!

Getting down that hill with the power auger may make me wish that I had a lighter hand auger. One of my kids wants to go there everyday. I'll keep an eye out for the wagon and say hello if I see ya out there.
