The big lake is finally completely capped. We got on the ice at 830 and got 7 quick browns and then it died. Must have caught the end of the morning nibble. White tubes and mealies worked well. We fished the bay at blowout which has been frozen for 10 days or so so the ice was 6 to 7 inches. I would be very cautious on any ice from blowout to the dam, it is very new and not very thick. There is a big ridge at blowout showing where the old ice meets the new. The bay at big elk has been fished hard so i assume the ice is good there also. With new snow in the forcast, it will cover thin ice so be careful. Good luck if you head up

Thanks for the report . I have been waiting for some good news from there . I will be fishing it next Tuesday a week from now . What was the longest Brown you caught ? Curt G.

19 was the biggest curt. i think if we had been there at 6 we would have slayed them. Of course 7 fish is pretty much slaying them most days at that lake.

Yes, that is awesome! I have been to big elk (creek side) twice and only caught one cut and lost a sucker. I knew it would be soon. Good luck guys and stay safe.

Anyone been up there since the storms? Would really like to go to either blowout or Indian Creek in the morning, but it's 45 degrees here in the valley at the moment! Would really like to know how the ice is holding up.
