Was hoping someone that lives around or has fished PV in the last couple of days could post up a report on the hard deck conditions. News said Eden got 9" yesterday so I'm hoping it didn't turn into a giant slush monster. If you have a ice report please let me know. Thanks.[Wink]

Havent been out since Tuesday night. Ice was approx 4" where I was on the N. end of the res. As I drove by tonight there was lots of water on top of the deck, and edges looked soft. did not see any shacks out when I drove by at 5:45 P.M., but I come over Trappers and around the E. side of the res. I couldnt say if there were any out near the dam. At any rate it looked like a mess and I think I'll give it a few days to re-freeze before I head out. My wife says Im worth more alive than in the bottom of the lake...kinda makes a guy feel all warm and fuzzy

I'll let ya know. Gonna go chase crappie around the lake in about 3 hours. I'm expecting a mess on top with decent ice underneath.

Thanks, if I can make it back from Cheyenne by a decent time on Saturday I was hopefully going to make a run up there again on Sunday. If you don't have any plans and I can make it back maybe we could get together out there. Get a mess of crappie for me since I'm stuck working today[cool]

Per friends that live up Liberty and Eden...PV has turned into the slush monster. Standing water/and nasty slush noted. This is what I was told and the folks didn't get out on the ice but could see anglers out in the Narrows and it looked like a slop fest. Now per an e-mail I just received raining and 34* in Eden.

Thanks for the post. Bummer on the slush monster. Well it won't be the first time I've danced with the beast and I'm sure not the last. The monster has never stopped me from going before but it's nice to know what you're in for so you can "try" to be prepared. I'm still going to try it as soon as I can unless someone posts that the ice is not safe to be on. Keep your reports coming if your friends tell you anything else. Thanks again and good fishing[cool]

Again what I posted was per phone calls/e-mails I've received from friends who live up in Liberty and Eden.

They didn't go on the ice but drove by and could see the standing water and slushy trail anglers were making including sled tracks filling up with water.

Good Luck if you venture out...think'n we'll spend this weekend home-locked [frown] lighting incense and doing the mantra ah-hmmmmmmmmm.... 'Mama Nature turn on the deep freeze'. And will repeat over and over again.

It's not too bad. 2-3" of slush/water on top of the ice. Easily navigable with good waterproof boots. Ice is still in good shape and likely will be until we have a hard freeze. 36 degrees and clear as of right now.

Take it to the bank. I was one of the guys on the narrows.

Thanks for the update from actual on the ice...we'd be curious to know about other areas outside the narrows but...will give PV a week and start the Mama Nature Mantra...again thanks for the eyes on target intel MichiganAngler..
