Spent the day at the rock with a buddy, we hit the ice at 07:45 and were fishing by 08:00 and off the ice by 14:00. Ice is 12+ inches once you get on, the area around the boat ramp was un accessible except for one spot where the dock sidewalk meets the ice. we were about 200 yards straight out from the boat ramp in 36 feet of water.

We caught 20 fish, between 12-16 feet down, most were the average 9-10 inch planters, we kept the biggest six, 13-15 inches, all six had what appeared to be roe in their stomachs.

The weather was nice, with a slight breeze, we didn't even set up the shelter. the ranger informed us that there are more tagged fish, total of 40.

So the edges were a little soft?

The water level has dropped and the edges around the boat ramp have compression ridges that have allowed areas of open water, I stood on one ice chunk at the end of the boat ramp that was over a foot thick and free floating in the water with over a foot of open water around it.
