I have caught some real nice SMB on the Salmon. They were caught when I was fishing for steelhead at Riggins. They really went for a plastic worm I was having luck with. I did not catch a non-legal bass; however, I only caught three. I fished 10 miles up the Salmon from Riggins.

My wife caught her largest SMB on the river. It was 5 lbs+. We always stop along the river for a break when traveling north. Don't think we have ever been skunked.

We spend a week at Spring Bar (near Riggins) every other summer and catch SMB consistently. If you plan to go, PM me and I'll turn you on to a killer trout stream in the area.

Plenty of smallies in that area, not as big as the Snake R. variety but somewhat tastier. Heard the size/number has suffered since Riggins put in a proper wastewater treatment system. I caught a 17-in'er swinging for steelhead last year, near the biggest fish I've caught up there, but remember some 50 fish days in the 90's.
