so i went fishing yesterday 1/19/12 dang near froze to death. i could not use my hands enough to turn the key in the car or unzip my soaking wet cold coat but had a blast caught 6 perch over 10 in and a ton of smaller ones that went back down the hole. also caught three nice sized trout. pm me for lake details. so once i got the car started and my hands thawed enough to drive so i zipped into a nearby town and bought hot chocolate to get my body temp back u . in all had a great day jsut maybe next time ill listen to my body a little sooner

I went the day before yesterday for about 40 minutes, thats all I could take. I feel your pain. Once the wind gets over 30 MPH it can be a real pain in the but to fish, especially on slick ice. It was pushing 50 mph gust when I left. Glad to hear you got into some good perch today. I went today for a couple hours and got into some good perch as well. Its always nice to get into those bigger perch.

How thick is the ice now? Is there water on top of the ice?

about 2 in of eater ontop of 14-18 in of clear ice teh edges were crap so wear wadders or bring a LONG plank
