It's amazing what one week will do on Ice conditions. FYI: The ice in Rabbit Gulch, Indian Bay, and the Main boat ramp has the March blue look to it already. Planks are a must to get on. At the bridge the ice looks better shape than any where. They were however still out on the ice fishing at the bridge and at Rabbit Gulch. It was 50 degrees today at 1pm. Went by the Berry it has a little snow cover. But looks good. Open water still at the Dam Soldier Creek side. What a screwy winter.

Early March ice-off? Ya!

No, what we'll have is freak storms and the coldest weather of the winter well into May, leaving thick slush/snow and rotten ice under it way past normal ice out times, so that both ice fishing and normal spring fishing will be a crap shoot. Ain't you never read the Murphy's Law books..?[

So the ice by the main boat ramp isn't safe anymore? Wanted to make a trip out that way sunday morning. Wondering if its worth my time?? Thanks!

You should be fine on the boat ramp just walk into the lake off the side of the ramp area. The ice is piling up there and had some soft spots. The bad edges are only in bunny gulch. Take cleats its slicker than snot. I still have not put the wheeler on it yet this year because there is no snow on the lake. I did see guys fishing the gulch but am not sure how they got on.
