Hit the ice at 8AM, with calm skies and air temp of 34 degrees. Started by the bridge, where a board was required to bridge the open water next to shore. Took my vexlilar and started scanning every open hole I could find, then started punching holes all over bunny gulch - shallow, deep, mud flats and structure. Saw only one fish at 15 feet, which we put on the ice - a 14 inch rainbow. We then headed to the south of the bridge and started punching holes and looking down existing ones. Marked only one other fish, a small one which rose from the bottom when I put down an attractor rig. (?perch)
Snow moved in about 10:45. Overall, the one trout we took home was the only fish we heard of which made it above the ice deck. Talked with one other fellow who lost a nice one at the ice, but everyone else reported not even a nibble.
Storm intensified as we were traveling back. Traffic was horrendous - 15 - 20 miles an hour most of the way with more slide-offs than we could count. Our usually 90 minute trip back to Utah Valley took just under three hours.
