Hi luke_m! Good to see someone from up north join in. I'm originally from St. Maries, in Boise now, and Avery and I try to get up there for pike a few times a year. Looking forward to reading your posts!

Welcome, there are a few on here from up north. The more all of you post, then the better the North Idaho part of this board will be. We enjoy it all, so I am looking forward to hearing more posts from your area.

Welcome Luke-M! I'm in Moscow. I got skunked in CDA last weekend, not sure if that counts though [laugh][pirate][pirate] !
I still haven't wrangled a musky in Idaho yet, but pike and bass, definitely!

Ya I haven't had much luck lately either I went ice fishing on rose lake a week ago for pike with tip-ups but jigged for perch while waiting but had no luck with pike I only caught a few decent perch and to my surprise a five pound catfish. The ice on the lake was pretty scary though only 4-5inches thick so be carefully if you head up there. I would try fernan fir ice fishing I went a few days ago and the ice was atleast ten inches thick and if you fish the middle of the lake you should catch quit allot of perch.

That's funny. I probably saw you on Rose Lake. I wasn't too crazy about the ice either, but my buddy was totally FREAKED out [laugh] But we made it out alive - even if we didn't catch anything.

Welcome to the site, luke-m. I love fishing for chinook on Lake CDA. If you fish for them, I look forward to your reports. I envy your location in that the Coeur d'Alene Press has such great fishing reports every Thursday. Sure wish the Statesman could do the same. (Our reports usually start with "should be good" ! By the way, for those who don't know, the reports are on the internet, and they often give up-to-date reports of steelhead fishing in the Lewiston/Orofino area, in addition to Priest, Pend Oreille and CDA area waters. Again, welcome. Mike

Thanks for replying everyone, and ya Kodiak1 this a pretty great fishing area, me an my dad used to fish for Chinooks all the time and caught a few nice ones, I even caught a fifteen pound Chinook fishing for bass with double tail grub! But my favorite fish to catch are northern pike I have caught a lot of nice ones out of courdalene lake and Hayden, but I really want to land a four foot pike but they always seem to get away.
