so the new guy goes out on GUIDED FISHING TRIP , THE PRICE HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID TO THE OUTFITTER OR ORGINISER .
AT THE END OF THE TRIP , WHAT DO YOU BASE YOUR TIP ON FOR THE GUIDE HIMSELF AND WHAT DO YOU FACTOR IN ?

[ol][li]catching a fish is always nice, but as we all know that this is never a given! there is no way any one can garentee you a fish of choice. just cant be done. if some one ever offers you a money back trip, take it. the fish realy have to be hot or the guy is desperate for your business, eather way you cant loose. I say look at like this - a tour guide is like having a chofuer driving a limo for half the price.[/li] [li]when I go I want to be taught how to do my own rigging and allowed to do so. If that means learning how to find my bait and cut it up for the hook and chum then so be it. I want the whole experiance of the adventure. after all that is what I am paying for. [/li] [li]If I wanted a fish party boat I would want the option to be able to do that if I didnt feal up to the blood and guts adventure. [/li] [li]I want to be able to take my own gear, but if I dont I still want to be able to set my own hookups.[/li] [li]conversation is always nice but not nessasary. [/li] [li]running a tight ship is a must, no lapses on safety and the crew should always be polite and curtious. their use of langauage should be sutable with mine. If I get vulger then I dont expect it but would not be bothered if theirs was, if mine is void of vulgarities then their's should match. in other words they should keep it clean till I cross over that line in polite conversation. the coustomer should be able to set the mood, if I want a quiet trip that should be cool, if I want ribbing and frendly chastizing that should be cool too.[/li][/ol]

if a tour guide can deliver the aboved mentioned then I say he/she would receive a top notch rating in my book.

Great list Dave!

I read an article about a month ago in one of my fishing magazines. I think it was In-Fisherman but I can't be sure of that. Might have been the NAFC magazine.
