My wife and I are looking to start backpacking/more hiking. Being that Spring FEELS a long way away, I've been looking at topo maps of the Owyhees. The maps I've been looking at show a surprising amount of water, more than I remember. But I haven't spent a ton of time in the Owyhees.
I'm not looking to butt in on anyone's area, just wondering if small fishable streams are present down there. I'm not looking for trophies, just some low pressure areas for some little trout.

This happened to be one of my "research projects" from a few years back. If you google it you will find a lot of info.. Think outside the box when you search as I found a lot of info from backpacking and geography sites. People on quest for indian petroglyphs even carry fishing poles and post good info. Good luck!

Check out YouTube also. I know I have seen several videos on hikes and fishing down in the Owyhee area, but I don't remember just what creeks etc.

Wow, thanks for that first link! As a plus, I learned an area to try for whitefish!
I graduated college almost 5 years ago and have to admit that's one of the first academic papers I've read since then. I've forgotten how much of a habit I have of "summing" things up.
Not to sound like I'm ungrateful, but the second link didn't show up for me.

With GPS locations you can't beat that. I am wanting to go try Grasmere this year. I wanted to last year and never got to. Ron

Finally had a chance to make it through that second article. Thanks so much for the links. Especially since
Grasmere has no fish. Neither myself nor anyone else would want to fish there
