Had a very fun day at Chesterfield with my father in law on Saturday. Weather was quite cold early, 3 degrees above when we arrived at 7AM, but it warmed up nicely and was sunny all day. Caught a couple dozen between the two of us. Most were small by Chesterfield standards but got lucky with several good ones. Two biggest were 22 inches and hefty. See attached photos. Father in law got a nice 18 incher. I lost a fight with a very nice one. It went on several runs and my reel was a little bit sticky due to the cold weather. Went on a long run, drag stopped quickly, and the line snapped. I was mad at the time, but redeemed myself with the two nice ones in the photos. They both fought very well. Talked to a few other folks who weren't having much luck. I think a majority of people fish too deep at Chesterfield, most of our fish were caught in less than 10 feet of water. Interestingly, the best action was in the middle of the day, from 11 to 1. Pink and white glow jigs with half a meal worm seemed to be the ticket. Hope everyone else was able to get out and enjoy the sun. Ice is in great shape with this recent cold snap. Tight lines,
