First off, Fishin4Days is the man. 2nd... I don't know if these pictures are going to show in the thread, or if it'll be a link to the photo gallery. 3rd- I needed this after being skunked at Cascade on the ice twice in a row.

We packed up the rain gear and headed to strike w/ weather reports of 8-10 mph winds w/ snow showers early and rain throughout the day.

Caught 3 dandy trout to start with on a few drifts. Then we hooked this big ol' feller. I'm not a great judge of distance, but I'm certain it took us at least 3 miles down river. Jer, correct me if I'm way off in either direction.

It got a little dreary and the rain picked up a little w/ the wind, but by the time the fish was uhooked, it was no problem, and wasn't a problem the rest of the day. We caught a few smaller guys, and a 6 footer Fishin4Days calls "Gramps" becase of his coloration, mangled pec fin, and calm demeanor when being handled.

The sun was out, it was almost hot... Fishin4Days hooked and landed from the bank a 7'2" (only fish we actually measured) sturgeon. Quite an impressive feat, seeing as the boat rods are 7' themselves. Not quite as much leverage as a 12' bank yankin' rod.

After that, we landed 2 more sturg to push the daily total up to 6. I can see what I can do about formatting some other pictures... but I'm tired.

We caught fish out of every hole except for 1, and that was at the end of the day when the bite had slowed. We were out for about 6.5 hours of fishing time. Not a bad catch rate for February 1st.

Thx-I've got to get over there and catch a few of those Dino's!

I'd take a skunk or two for some fish like those! Nice job Nick.

I enjoyed talking with you at Cascade on Monday. Sorry you didn't get into any. Seems Cascade is a hit or miss proposition right now.

Well, it looks like some nice fish came out to play with you!
Six sturgeon in a day is really impressive. Congratulations on a great day!

You're killing me! I spent most of this fall working for just 1 sturgeon. Now my boat is in the middle of a restoration and the sturgeon bite is hot. Go figure!

wow ! way to get it done !

Nice going Nick. Maybe I should try Sturgeon since I can't catch a perch in Cascade either. It would be a easy decision to make if I could just eat the dinos.

Nice fish, sounds like a good day to me. We fished downstream from there a little ways a couple weeks ago and only had one bite. Was nice to be on the water though. I think it's time for me to head to Glens Ferry or Bliss to hit a few holes that I know better...

nicely written report man. yeah the weather was beautiful in spite of the report and the fishin was even better. 1 sturg per hour is not bad for february. and I don't know if if that first fish drug us 3 miles or not but it was a long way from hook up to land for sure. a lot of people tend to think of sturgeon as a spring/summer fish but the fishing can be excellent in the winter too.
