Okay so i need a little help to save the interior of my truck and my nose. I had an aerosol can of concentrated garlic spray that i use to stink up my trout bait....well...Saturday i was loading boxes in my truck (Jeep Cherokee) and forgot it was back there from the week before. Box landed on it and compressed the tip....long story short driving down the road 30 minutes later i had to hang my head out the window because of the stench!!!! UUUUUGh so its in the carpet and this crap is potent!

I tried shampoo, carpet cleaner, a CAN of febreeze LOL, scrubbing and even putting a layer of backing soda on it. Does anyone know what will get this crap off??? I am gonna be trading my truck in later this month and right now it smells like a bad Italian restaurant.

Any ideas?????

Short of tearing the carpet and replacing it, the best you'll likely be able to do is mask the odor. The stench has likely penetrated all the way down through the carpet and into the padding and whatever else is below. You can clean that top layer of carpet, but the stench below will keep returning as time passes. Just wait till the heat of summer!

Replacing the carpet would be expensive and likely not worth the $ and effort since you plan to trade it in.

I'd say just clean it as best you can (saturate the carpet fully when shampooing, soak it) and put a new air freshener in the day you go to trade it. You could spend a lot of time and effort cleaning it an never fully remove the odor so keep that in mind.

Good luck

Try some Ozium deodorizer. I know it works for getting the smoke smell out of interiors. May take a couple cans to see if it works Worth a try before replacing anything.
