Lived and fished Utah my whole life. Mostly in central Utah. Trying to figure out the lakes surrounding SLC. I need a mess of Perch for a fish fry. Thought I would join the group and learn more from those fishing these lakes.

Hello Russt, welcome to BFT. A worm on a hook is always a safe bet, I agree. I've moved your post over to the Utah General forum so you can talk with the nice folks in your area.

Have a look around and enjoy the site. Be sure to post some pics and reports.

Welcome to the site Russt. Perch catching has been slow this winter with few lakes producing more than a half dozen perch at a time. The lake that has the best chance for you to do well getting some perch is Starvation. Now if you want to have a fish fry with white bass, then you are in luck. Lots of those fish in Utah lake.Good luck on you quest.

russt I agree, Perch have been slow. I did make it up to starvation a couple weeks ago and couldn't even get my line to the bottom without hooking a perch. I know it is a drive but it was fast fishing. we found it hotter in shallow water vs. deeper water. we didn't get very big perch but it was fun and we had a big fish fry anyway.
