went to strike and it was pretty good. would have been nice if it didnt rain the whole way there and soak the boat. went in spurts. they were swimming like crazy. here for 3 minutes gone for 3 but we ended up catching about 90 anywhere from 8 to 11 inches. we didnt get any crappie but got a 19 3/4 inch rainbow.

well after emptying the livewell we ended up with about 120. not too bad. didnt want that many but they came from deep and wouldnt swim back down. need to find a counter to keep track.

That is the bad thing about fishing this early for Perch and crappie. WHen they come up from 30 to 50 feet they are not going to live. I have seen a lot of guys release 8 and 9 inch crappie only to see them float out of sight. This early a guy has to keep everything that comes up from the deep. Ron

Sounds like a great start to the year! I was down there on Friday. Suprised at the number of boats runnning around. It was a gorgeous day though. Talking with other groups, most people seemed to be having limited success. Of course one guy also told me "yeah I hear they are trailing(guessing he meant trolling) for sturgeon up in that canyon(pointing at the Narrows)"
Curious about your technique, were you finding that ultra slow or dead sticking worked best?
