+1 on the perch, no such luck either

[cool][#0000ff]Not too likely to get perched in the shallower waters near Charleston. They are usually at least 40' deep...and deeper.[/#0000ff]

was at the island bay area, so deep enough

[cool][#0000ff]Sorry. There were other references to Charleston. Had some guys up there last year fishing in 12 feet of water and griping about the lousy perch fishing.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]You may have been in the right depth, but as you know, you can't catch them where they ain't. In the olden days the perch covered the bottom all over the lake...at all depths. But anymore you sometimes really have to look to find a few.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I doubt if fishable ice will last too much longer. Good luck while you can still get out.[/#0000ff]

i showed em on the flasher at the island but they arent real interested and had one on half way up. i couldnt get to my main spot at rainbow bay because i dont dare cross the pressure ridge out there near open water. but fishing for perch near charleston in 12 feet is laughable.[:p]. next time ill hit it a little earlier in the morning, im ready for ice fishing to be through honeslty, the fishing has not been very good really anywhere this year and im ready for crappie and perch spawns around the state.
