Seems the miracle week was over yesterday, after hearing about all the fish being caught and talking to guys having had 40 fish days last week, we finally made it over to get after them. We still had a great day, boated a dozen fish, largest was about 3 lbs. All cutts. Lost quite a few before we got them to the boat. Still a great day for Bear lake, but not like is was a few days before.
Ice moved over the rock pile later in the day. It was thin and slushy.

I assume that was you we talked to at the boat ramp. I can second Muddyrudder's report. The frenzy is over. We managed to boat 16, lost close to that many more, but certainly not as fast as it was a few days ago. It was frustrating trying to dodge the huge chunks of ice. You would find a few active fish, and then not be able to fish it because the ice would move over the spot. Still a lot of fun on the big blue. As we pulled out of Garden City, you could see huge masses of ice over the entire center portion of the lake. The ice is constantly moving & you never know where it's going to be. I think one boat that was out had to break through the ice to get back to the marina, but when we left that chunk had moved on. Just be aware you may not be able to get where you want to.
Yes that was me, I saw the Big Fish Tackle sticker on you window when you were leaving. Good to know who you are now. Hope to see you over there again.
