The last storms left a 2 inch crust on top of a 2 inch layer of water then there is about 4-5 inches of ice. If you weigh over 180 lbs and have small feet you may break through the crust so wear water proof shoes.
There is a pressure ridge coming off the SW end of island broke through near the shore and went in over the top of a boot.
Fishing was slow. Only 1 fat 12 inch bow. Few fish on the finder. Fished in about 20 feet of water.
Noticed the water temp was 37.4 F on the finder. Usually the water is 33 or 34. Wondered if the ice was melting from the bottom up and if I would sink before I got done fishing. Anyone noticed if the water temp has any effect on the bite when ice fishing?
There were a few groups near the state boat ramp fishing. There were sled tracks heading toward the dam.
