Ended up having the day off from work (wish I would have found out earlier). So, I headed up to see if I could manage any mid-day perch. Fished from 10:30-1:30 and the fishing was pretty slow, but was really good for about 20 minutes in there somewhere. I caught a few perch and the four that I kept came in the 20 minute stretch. The two biggest were caught as a double (one on each rod) at the same time. Tried moving once, but had no luck at all in that location. Ended up returning to my original holes and had a few more light bites I was unable to hook up with. Just as I was considering leaving, I hooked what was surely no perch. Much to my surprise, I ended up with a nice bonus brown to end the day. Weather was great, T-shirt most of the time, but fishing was not exactly amazing.
Ice had about a 3/4" layer of crust that you break through into about 2 inches of water, and another 3-4 inches of good ice below that. So, if you go, you will want waterproof boots I assure you.

Were you guys the group of around 8 that was just off the south west side of the island? I was watching from the camera wondering if the ice was ok to be on.
