Thinking about going to East Canyon this weekend anyone know if there is safe ice? Has anyone been up to East Canyon in the last week, for a fishing report. Went to Hyrum last week and caught a bunch of tiny trout with a black ice fly. Ice conditions were not very good and had to hop over the water on the bank. This was on 02/12/12.

We went up 2 weeks ago. The ice was safe (11") and very little water on the edges. Haven't heard much this week with the storms, but temps have been cold, so I am assuming it's still good...

Problem at Hyrum was they turned off (or down) the outflow, so the water was rising, and hence - the ice.

Wonder how the derby went today?!?! 14" or bigger with all those planters - THAT's the challenge!
