Went today. Ice was good the crust layer has gotten frozen in to firm ice. No breaking through as you walk. Fishing was fair by the island. Deeper seemed better. Mostly last years planters and no perch.
It is the polar plunge tomorrow,FYI parking will be scarce in the park.

Some folks are making the holes for the plunge, as seen from the lake camera, as I'm writing this post. Hope they mark it off so no one takes a plunge on accident, especially with this storm coming in tonight.[crazy]

There are tall construction cones with yellow tape marking the big hole where the plunge took place.

I headed out by the island at about 8am, ice was good.
Caught my first perch at 8:30, was a nice 10 incher.
I thought it was going to be a good day, but did not get another bite. Left at noon.
