Well I just returned from what will probably be my last trip on Starvy's hard deck. The open water in Rabbit Gulch is growing more and more each time I go. The ice is still around 12" thick, but there is getting to be less and less surface area. Also, as said before the edges are good early and a little rough getting off. Fishing was fast and furious again as it has been all winter, but I have also noticed a steady decline in size. Not that there were many(should say any) monster perch coming out of there, but this trip I had to drop my standards a good inch to about 8" for a keeper after throwing tons of 4-8" fish back. Ended up keeping 20 between 8-9" between the wife and I to have a meal. I think the larger fish are starting to get caught out of that particualr area with all the pressure, or they are at least getting smarter.
All in all, still a fun day and got to get my dogs out for some much needed exercise, now that bird season is over.
