Fishing Forum

This has been a good fishing week for me. I usually try to get a trip in every week, but was blessed to go twice this week! For my first outing I hobbled over to a local stream to see what I could see. I forgot my camera and had to use my cell so the picture quality isn't wonderful. I've really been wanting to perfect my jerkbait skills so all I used this week was my Lucky Craft....and I'm impressed.

First fish was a fiesty brown that was fat and healthy



Browns are usually all I catch in this canyon, but the rainbows kept showing me the love. They were even bigger than the brown []



Beautiful colors



I had a heart breaking moment though.I was running the pointer through a deep deep hole where there was a log jam. Jerking the lure downstream a monster shot out from under the logs. He hit...I set the hook...fought for all of 3 seconds and he shook it and ran back under the logs....sigh , but now I know he's there [cool] I'll be back

For the next trip I headed tiger hunting down south. I didn't get to fish as thoroughly as I normally do because the whole family came andI was busy baiting hooks for kids, but I did get some alone time that paid off.

It was a great day and the kids were all on the smaller rainbows. They were pretty aggressive



Finally I found what I came for. There were other smaller fish, but this was the one I have been craving all winter. It smacked the pointer hard and took line quickly. Great fight and great colors for this particular lake [laugh]





It was nice to see soft water again [] Great to get kids on some fish
