Hit Soldier Creek today with my Dad, Brother, and Sister in-law. Got up there a little later than we wanted to. But we caught fish none the less.
We took the road that leads to the Dam till the first turn off. Didn't dare go further. Did talk to a guy that said there were four trucks chained gained to each other trying to get another truck unstuck further towards the damn. Be careful out there and know you and your equipments limits!
Ended up with a handful of planter bows and a good size slot limit cutt. None worth measuring.
Funny for the day was when my sis in-law caught a fish while looking down the hole and watching it take the bait. She worked all day for that fish. Although it ended up being the smallest I will tell you no one was more proud of their fish than her.
Fish were 5-20 ft down. Rainbows mostly up top. Cutts down toward the 16-20 ft range. White and green worked best for lures. Worms and chubs worked best for bait. Ice was as thick as my ice scoop could reach down. About a foot of snow on top. Water came up through the hole so don't clear all that snow away.
Hope this helps those of you looking to head out in the next couple of days. Keep an eye on the weather. I believe its supposed to snow up there tonight.
