According to the fish and game website the fish and game commission increased the bag limit on steelhead from section 15 of the river to the sawtooth fish hatchery. the limit is now 6 fish per day 18 in possession and 40 for the season.

I was just wondering why they would increase the numbers on the season. any words from someone that knows someone would be great. [fishin]

Can't say for certain, but usually when the F&G in this state and others raises the bag limits on annadromus fish it's cause the run has provided the various hatcheries with their target quota of return stock that they needed for eggs/milt to produce the next generation of hatchery stock. The thought is, okay, we've got what we needed, so let the sportfishers get more tagged fish.

Here is my honest opinion:

TO SELL FISHING LICENSES AND STEELHEAD TAGS.

. . . especially to nonresidents. And get everybody to take off work, pack their bags, and run up to the river and create a real cluster of a mess.

They get their hatchery broodstock quota's of steelhead every single year.

IDF&G has the most skilled and successful Marketing department on earth. I was going to see if they would put on some kind of a boot camp training or seminar for our Marketing department here at Juniper Systems.
