So ice fishing,
Yeah everyone is giving up due to the slow pace this year and the strange weather making some lakes inaccessible.
In fact I keep hearing people say things like "I'm giving up ready for spring" and "done ice fishing, the skunk is damaging my septum" etc....
That brings me to chesterfield res in Idaho, I had posted on the Idaho board and YoungFish gave me some great pointers, we left Ogden around 430am and arrived at 730 (because Chesterfield res and Chesterfield the town are not the same) it really should have taken only 2 hours.
When we arrived we punched a few holes using the tackle advise from YoungFish, the older gents across from us were struggling with their auger so I went to help them with mine, I was on the 4th hole for them when i was told that my pole was in the hole. I ran over and landed this 19 inch 3.5lb fighter ( Fish gods throwing me a break for helping other fisherman ) [inline DSC_0407.JPG]
The fishing was fantastic and we ended the day with a lot of fish some the same size as above and a few at this outstanding jaw dropping size

The drive was long the fishing was great and the scenery was out of this world

If anyone is thinking about going to chesterfield GO however, make sure your blades are sharp and don't fret when you think the ice is going to swallow every inch of auger blade, it is thick and hard but you'll get through.
Over all it was FANTASTIC!!!
