Road into Soldier Creek Marina is still accessible and the ice is in great shape....fishing for me was slow. Was on the ice and fishing at 7:30 and had lots of bites/action between 8-9:00 and only iced 2 20" ers. Then the bite slowed way down. At 11:30 I decided that I wanted my girlfriend to have some better success so we packed up and I thought I'd go find the famous rabbit gulch. Edges are deteriorating but it was only a shallow wade in a couple inches of water to get to the solid ice. Started in about 25' of water and was only getting a very few perch and then heard some young kids excitedly catching lots of perch so i moved into 13' of water and then it was on. Got plenty to make a nice batch of perch tacos and even had a chunky rainbow that wanted to play. Beautiful day to be out, wondering if this was my last trip of the season [frown]

Nice day out. Glad you found some good ice. Also sounds like you got some good fish. Trust you let your girlfriend catch the biggest or most fish on the day? Maybe her's was the Starvation Steelie?
Yes she usually does out fish me[crazy] She thinks it is especially funny when she gets one or two while I'm still setting up the tent, drilling my hole and setting up my rod! BUT I'm happy to say that I was the one who caught the rainbow, but her cutt at Soldier Creek won the biggest fish of the day for us. I have to admit she is a pretty good sport about it all...this is her first year really ever fishing at all and she never complains, stays all day with me and usually catches more than me....I can't complain about that!
