Hit deer Creek this AM just before sunup. Temp 6 degrees F. Ice very good, 6-8 inches and firm.
Started very shallow at 6 feet and fished various depths up to 121 feet. Fishing was slow, but all four trout came from just above the bottom at 20 feet. I marked only one other fish all day, a big signal suspended at thirty feet over 98 foot in depth.
For those without a depth finder, here are the depths when measured in a direct line drawn between the east-most buoy off sailboat beach and the power pole directly opposite on the far shore
( a minus distance means how far from the buoy on the near shore side, and a positive distance means it is beyond the buoy toward the far shore.
-15 yards 12 foot deep
-5 yards 21 foot deep
Buoy 32 foot deep
10 yards 54 foot deep
20 yards 66 foot deep
30 yards 98 foot deep
40 yards 110 foot deep
50 yards 121 foot deep
I did best about 5 yards to the near shore side of the buoy.
