What do you mean by sucker? Besides carp I have caught whitefish out of there before. But I was always right next to where the river came in though.

I've never caught a sucker at Deer Creek, but have at Rockport and a diversion canal off the Jordan River. I'd assume that most large reservoirs in northern Utah have suckers if they were indigenous to that watershed before the dams went up. They put up a pretty good fight, especially on light icefishing tackle!

Curious...how were the ice conditions? Good ice? Lots of slush?

I have never caught a sucker out of there either.
It's always something new with that lake.
Now I have caught a few crappie out of there a few years ago. You just never know what is going to turn up on the end of your hook.

We were there on Monday as well and had no luck. I had never fished Charleston area before and was surprised by the very shallow water. I did mark a few fish on the flasher, but no landing of any fish. What depth were you fishing? We were in 12 feet and that was about as deep as I could find. I would like to go back up there, but may need a little guidance.

Fished next to you, once again. It was much slower than the previous week. Lande5, the boys missed at least a dozen. We left about half hour after you did. Yep, that was a nice sucker. 18 inches at least.

the ice was the best i have seen it all year there no slush we was out by the channel as close as i dared with my boys then we moved in to about 8 feet or so and nothing i like to fish right in the current it seem to be where we do the best for the bigger fish
